As we are all aware, a good and effective treatment starts with proper and early diagnosis. Even diseases like cancer can be effectively treated provided it is diagnosed at early stage. Advanced and comprehensive (all facilities under one roof) centres for early diagnosis and treatment for various diseases described above are available only in the city of Mumbai. Patients staying in and round the city of Thane have to travel long distances and spend their entire day to get these procedures/surgery done. At times, transferring sick patients to long distances is not only cumbersome but also can be life threatening. Cost of these advanced procedures is also at times out of reach of common man.
The field of gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy is rapidly evolving. Tremendous advancements have been made in the last decade for minimal invasive treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders without subjecting them to major open surgery.

This a full-fledged comprehensive centre for diagnosis and treatment of all the gastrointestinal ailments under one roof. Even advanced cancer surgeries are routinely done at this tertiary care institute. The team has now extended these advanced treatment facilities to the neighbouring city of Thane at TIGE. Being a centrally located centre it is accessible to people from all round the city and neighbouring suburbs.

Dr. Suryaprakash Bhandari
Gastroenterologist and Interventional GI EndoscopyDr. Suryaprakash Bhandari has done his Masters in General Surgery from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, Mumbai in 2002. He was awarded gold medal by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai for his best academic performance in General Surgery in 2002. He has also cleared his DNB General Surgery examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.Later he did his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Advanced Therapeutic GI Endoscopy at Seoul, South Korea.
